THE SOUTHEAST REGION, ALSO KNOWN AS THE “MOTHER CHAPTER”, IS ACTIVELY CONDUCTING OUTDOOR EVENTS IN ALABAMA, FLORIDA, TENNESSEE, KENTUCKY, WEST VIRGINIA AND VIRGINIA. WE LITERALLY HAVE IT ALL, WITH EVERYTHING FROM THE WORLDS’ MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES ON THE GULF COAST UP TO THE BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS AND BEYOND. THE ABUNDANCE OF ON THE WATER ADVENTURES, CHASING TURKEY, DEER OR FERAL HOGS THROUGHOUT THE YELLOWHAMMER STATE OR WHITETAIL DEER AND BLACK BEARS IN THE MOUNTAINS, CHANCES ARE WE HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU. IF YOU OWN LAND, HAVE EQUIPMENT TO DONATE, WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A VETERAN HUNTING OR FISHING, OR EVEN WOULD LIKE TO DONATE PLEASE REACH OUT TO US. THE GRAND JEWEL OF OUR EVENTS WOULD BE THE SERGEANT FIRST CLASS LUKE HORTENSTINE MEMORIAL TURKEY HUNT. HELD ANNUALLY IN SOUTH ALABAMA, WE BRING IN 10 VETERANS THAT, BY THE GENEROSITY OF LOCAL LANDOWNERS, HUNT APPROXIMATELY 24,000 ACRES OF DONATED PROPERTIES. WE ARE ALSO FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE MASS PURSUIT TV IN CAMP FOR THAT EVENT. OVER 50 TEAMMATES AND VOLUNTEERS PLAN, COORDINATE AND EXECUTE THE HUNT. THE BONVILLAINS’ ARE A TRUE EXAMPLE OF PATRIOTISM. WITHOUT HESITATION, THEY ALLOW US THE USE OF THEIR PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TWO CABINS TO HOUSE OUR VETERANS AS WELL AS OTHER LOCALS WHO DONATE THEIR HOMES, CAMPSITES OR BARN LOFTS TO HOUSE OUR TEAM.



 



Warren Maddox, General Manager for the Southeast Region, grew up in Andalusia, AL until the age of 20. Then then chose to serve his country and spent 6 years in the U.S. Army assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. Throughout his life, he has not only felt a strong passion for the outdoors, but also a desire to help others in any way he could. Currently Warren and his wife Elizabeth have two sons, Mason and Parker. They moved back to Andalusia in the summer of 2016. Warren continues to be heavily involved with the UXO family and with the church. “Do not fear death, but rather an unlived life.”



 



Jonathon Hatcher, Southeast Region Advisor, resides in Robertsdale, Al currently with his wife Kayla and their 2 boys. Jonathon grew up in a small town in Covington County where hunting, fishing and the outdoors became his passion in life. He has always been one to encourage others to get out and enjoy the outdoors and takes every opportunity he has to introduce people to it. He takes great pride in working with UXO as he feels it is a small token of appreciation he can give to those who served and sacrificed to give us the freedoms we have, to be able to enjoy God's beautiful creation. Sidney Little, Southeast  Region Advisor, resides in McKenzie AL, where he was born and raised. He is a retired Military Veteran serving 25 years. He has a 20-year-old son that enjoys the outdoors just as much as him. Sidney spends most of his time outdoors hunting and fishing, with his greatest attention to hog hunting. He volunteers much of his time with disabled Veterans, taking them in the outdoors to experience nature. “I have always had a saying, leave no trace, meaning leave the land and waters as you found them as if you were never there.”
